What is RSS?

RSS stands for "Really Simple Syndication" - a format for sharing and distributing Web content such as newspapers, magazines and articles from your favorite websites. Using RSS news reader software, you can view data feeds from various websites. Cooper offers its RSS feeds free of charge to use for individuals and non-profit organizations for non-commercial use.

How do I Find RSS Readers?

RSS/News Aggregators (or "Readers") download and display RSS feeds on your desktop. For a link to download some popular free and commercial RSS Readers, click here.

In addition, Web browsers such as Firefox and Safari allow RSS feeds to be delivered directly to your browser, and popular services such as My Yahoo! let you add RSS feeds to a Web page. Another way people use RSS feeds is by incorporating content into weblogs, or "blogs" - web pages comprised of usually short, frequently updated items and weblinks.
