The California Broadband Task Force commissioned by Governor Schwarzenegger recently released a Report on the status of broadband access throughout California, finding that 96% of households have basic broadband access.  Beyond typical Commission-ese, the report includes detailed and visually informative maps of broadband availability, as well as a county-by-county listing of individual communities said to be presently unserved by broadband service.

Meanwhile, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has launched a new website, “Broadband Opportunities for Rural America” providing a variety of information on broadband service, spectrum for wireless broadband services, government funding, federal agency proceedings and broadband deployment data.
