Peter Califano has been elected as President for the California Bankruptcy Forum for the 2013-2014 Term.  The CBF is an organization comprised of bankruptcy judges, trustees, lawyers and professionals throughout the State of California, including accountants, appraisers, auctioneers, bankers, equipment lessors, landlords, brokers, consultants and turnaround managers. Its primary purposes are to provide educational support and a structure for communication between the bench and bar, thereby providing better service to the public at large.
In addition, at the CBF Insolvency Conference recently held in San Diego, Peter also successfully chaired a CBF Pro Bono Task Force in which a plan was approved to fund on an annual basis, various pro bono projects around the state in order to assist the growing number of pro se filers and litigants in bankruptcy court.  The program is designed to advise pro se debtors and assist in the administration of cases in the bankruptcy courts.
