Cooper offers a full range of estate planning and administration services. On the planning side, our lawyers design and prepare basic estate planning documents, including wills, revocable trusts, durable powers of attorney for property management, and advance health care directives. We also design, implement, and administer estate and gift tax “freezing” and reduction techniques, such as family limited partnerships or limited liability companies, family gifting, marital deduction trusts, qualified subchapter S trusts, qualified personal residence trusts and other types of grantor retained interest trusts, life insurance trusts, charitable remainder trusts and other planned giving strategies.
On the administration side, our lawyers represent fiduciaries, beneficiaries, and other interested persons in all aspects of probate and trust administration, including the administration of decedents’ estates through probate or through revocable trusts, all aspects of post- mortem tax planning, and preparation of gift and estate tax returns and state and federal fiduciary income tax returns.
